Alumni Meet Report
Date: 26th July 2025
Venue: Anand Hall, Maharashtra Institute of Technology
The Alumni Meet held on 26th July 2025 was a successful and memorable event, witnessing the enthusiastic participation of 86 alumni from various batches and departments(Agriculture: 6, Architecture:0, Mechanical:8, EEE: 10, Civil: 6, CSE:25, ECE: 10, PPE: 7, MCA:12, MBA: 2) who returned to campus to reconnect with their alma mater.
The program began with a warm welcome by Dr. Amit Rawate, Dean, Student Development and Alumni Affairs. This was followed by Dr. Supriya Kinariwala, Associate Dean (Alumni), who presented a detailed overview of the alumni association’s activities over the past year. Key highlights included alumni interactions, mentorship programs, student support initiatives, and the launch of the Barfila Fellowship aimed at empowering deserving girl students. The Barfila Fellowship, an alumni-funded initiative, was formally launched during the event. This fellowship aims to provide financial assistance to academically strong and deserving girl students from economically weaker sections. It reflects the spirit of giving back and the deep commitment of alumni towards empowering the next generation. The fellowship is envisioned to be a recurring support system, awarded annually to selected girl students across Computer and Computer Allied Departments.
This was followed by inspiring addresses from Dr. N. G. Patil, Director; Prof. Munish Sharma, Director General, G. S. Mandal; and Dr. Y. A. Kawade, President, G.S. Mandal. All dignitaries appreciated the continued contributions of alumni towards the institution’s growth and encouraged deeper engagement in the future.
Several alumni shared their professional journeys, memorable college experiences, and words of encouragement for current students—creating an atmosphere of pride, nostalgia, and inspiration.
After lunch, department-wise alumni activities were organized. These included lab visits, informal interactions with students and faculty, and discussions focused on potential collaborations and knowledge sharing.
The meet successfully strengthened the bond between the alumni and the institute, fostering a renewed spirit of belonging and contribution. We look forward to organizing more such engaging events in the future.
