MIT Announces Barfila Fellowship for Girl Students

Maharashtra Institute of Technology announces the prestigious Barfila Fellowship for deserving girl students.

A key highlight of the event was the announcement of the Barfila Fellowship, an initiative supported by alumni Ms. Ruma Chakraborty and Mr. Dushyant Sharma, from the Computer Science (CSE) 1990 batch of Maharashtra Institute of Technology. The name “Barfila” is a meaningful tribute inspired by their mothers—Mrs. Barfi Devi Sharma and Mrs. Ila Chakrabarti, reflecting a heartfelt effort to give back to society and support education. The fellowship provides financial assistance of ₹60,000 per student towards development and hostel fees, while also recognizing talent, dedication, and perseverance.

Dignitaries emphasized that the fellowship is not just financial support but a motivation to excel, grow, and contribute to society in the future.
