Mr Prashant Deshpande a renowned software entrepreneur, a Med Tech enthusiast & a philanthropist addressed the gathering yesterday at Anand Hall, MIT CSN as part of the Golden Jubilee Lecture Series. He was welcomed by our Hon’ble President, Gramaudyogik Shikshan Mandal (GSM) Dr Y. A. Kawade and others and was formally honoured by Prof S. G. Deshmukh, Principal of Marathwada Institute of Technology.
Mr. Prashant Deshpande appreciated the growth of GSM’s MIT CSN that he himself has witnessed in the last 50 years. He spoke on ‘Viksit Bharat and the Contribution of Technical Education to it.’ He said, “Technologies of Digital Transformation should be embraced for India to compete internationally. And our younger generation has got a lot to contribute towards Viksit Bharat or Atmanirbhar Bharat.” He further elaborated on the concept of a developed country by stating that a country wherein a rich person uses public transport can be stated as a developed one. In defining Viksit Bharat, he stated that we need to add the spiritual or philosophical quotient to it for our mental well-being. He emphasized the importance of clean energy, smart agricultural practices, digitization and increasing the green cover for better living. A very valuable point he mentioned on AI that the time that is saved because of AI should be utilized in a productive way by all of us.
Guiding to our faculty members he urged all to design industry-linked syllabus. He said, “In technical institutes, teachers will have to become facilitators for students. He underlined on developing a solution-visualizing society than a problem-speaking society, as he quoted the example of his project of rejuvenating Kham River of our city. He concluded by stressing imparting quality education, as education is the foundation of Viksit Bharat.
