Dr Dambhare spoke on ‘Viksit Bharat and the Contribution of Technical Education to it.’ Recalling India’s rich History, he said, “We had world famous universities like Nalanda and Taxila, and it is there in our Indians’ DNA to progress through technology and innovation”. He praised our country’s growth by giving examples of two great bridges recently built by India.
Dr Dambhare urged to all faculty members that imparting value based technical education is very necessary to develop ethical technocrats. He prioritised the need of developing civic sense among students over technical skills. He added by saying, “Engineers should have knowledge of all domains like history, music, painting, medical science; we should break all boundaries and that’s what NEP 2020 says”. He advised faculty members to understand the needs and challenges of today’s students and act accordingly. “We all should keep learning about new technology however old we are, age is just a number. And we should create courses as per the students’ needs and deliver”, said he.
Dr Dambhare praised the efforts taken by Dr Y. A. Kawade in raising this massive organisation and progressively leading it since last 50 years. He elaborated that how Dr Kawade felt the need of technical manpower in Marathwada region five decades ago and how he envisioned and started from humble beginnings to establish what stands today in front of us a group of academic and research institutes, including a hospital. Dr Dambhare credited Dr Kawade with the success of two establishments, MIT CSN and Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad.
