Distance Learning
About Distance Learning Program
The conventional education system cannot reach the large population who do not have access or face other constraints. The open education system aims to offer quality higher education to a larger population, unable to pursue an education in a formal setting, leading to the concept of ‘Open and Distance Learning System’ through an open university.
There is an emphasis on self-study by the student in the distance education method for teaching and learning, with many additional academic inputs. The latest computer, communication, audio-video, and internet technology have improved the effectiveness of distance education. Communication technology enables students to receive instruction despite geographic and/or time separation.
Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), Nashik, established in 1989, recognized MIT Aurangabad as a potential study center to impart distance education through different vocational programs in engineering and technology.
