On May 16, 2024, Alumni Association of MIT hosted an alumni talk series- Dil Se. Dr. Bhushan Lohar is the alumni of Mechanical department (2009-2012). Dr. Bhushan Lohar is an Assistant Professor in Systems Engineering at the University of South Alabama (USA). He is a faculty advisor of the INCOSE student chapters at the USA and President of the INCOSE Blues Chapter. He has over 10 years of experience combining the automobile and aerospace industry, working on systems engineering, research & development, project management, and quality management. His research interests include Model-Based Systems Engineering, Model-Based Patterns, Space Systems Engineering, SysML modeling and simulation, and Model-Based Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

Dr. Bhushan interacted with Faculty of Mechanical department. He said this is a great start and look forward to collaborating with MIT professors on peer reviewed paper publication, research collaboration, grant writing and students’ recruitment.

Dr. Bhushan interacted with Faculty and students of mechanical department. Dr. Bhushan Lohar, began the talk by recollecting about his time at the MIT campus. He spoke fondly of the formative years spent on campus, highlighting the pivotal moments and key mentors who shaped his career path.

Transitioning to his journey in the United States, Dr. Bhushan Lohar detailed the challenges and achievements encountered along the way. He discussed the importance of consistency, Perseverance and never give up, learnt from NCC cadre, in navigating the complexities of his profession. He shared stories from his groundbreaking projects and research, illustrating how cross-disciplinary teamwork can lead to remarkable advancements.
