The Alumni Association of MIT organized another insightful session of the “Dil Se – Alumni Talk Series” on 22nd February 2025, featuring Mr. Aniruddha Kulkarni, an accomplished alumnus of the Mechanical Engineering 2013 batch.
Mr. Kulkarni, who completed his M.Tech in Thermal Engineering from IIT Madras (2015), has made remarkable contributions in the fields of process engineering, energy engineering, process simulation, and petroleum refining. During the session, he shared his professional journey and provided valuable insights into research, innovation, and sustainable energy solutions.
He highlighted his key achievements, including recognition as Young Achiever of the Year (FIPI), Rising Star finalist at Platts Global Energy Awards, and Most Promising Engineer at HP Awards 2022, along with prestigious honors like the National Young Innovator Award and CII Young & Emerging Leader 2022.
Mr. Kulkarni also discussed some of his notable contributions, such as:
- Bharat Hi-Star: Development and commercialization of a high-performance domestic LPG burner.
- Green Hydrogen Initiatives: Scaling up and optimizing alkaline water electrolyzers.
- Energy Storage Systems: Designing advanced chemistry batteries.
- PNG Burner Development: Innovations for domestic and commercial applications.
- Business Development: Advancing the K Model Software product at BPCL-CRDC.
The talk offered students valuable guidance on the importance of innovation, interdisciplinary skills, and persistence in research and development careers. He also encouraged students to explore sustainable solutions and to align their skills with the evolving demands of the energy sector.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students engaged actively, asking questions related to research opportunities, industry trends, and career prospects in energy and process engineering.
