MIT Group of Academic & Research Institutes, Aurangabad celebrated 25th global linux day by conducting various programs. Software developer Linus Torvalds designed Linux OS and on 25th August 1991 the os was made available at free of cost with its source code to all. This year 2016, the world celebrated 25th anniversary of Linux.
The celebration program was inaugurated by Principal Dr Santosh Bhosle, Principal Dr Nilesh Patil, Vice Principal Dr Hanumant Dharmadhikari and Vice Principal Dr Deepak Nehte.
One day hands-on workshop on Enterprise Linux was organized under the guidance of Prof Suresh Bhawar. Third year CSE Students Sanket Kolnurkar, Nihal Renu, Manpreet Singh, Gauri Bhalerao, Prathamesh Videkar assisted hands-on workshop. Mr Vatsal Thakur, an expert from Red Hat , Mumbai conducted seminar on "Career opportunities in Open Source". He guided, " Linux has been used in corporate world. It drives fastest supercomputers as well as android mobiles. Hence, market requirement for skilled linux people is huge , in the range of 200, 000 , whereas there exist only 50,000 people expert in Linux."
The HoD of Computer, Prof Kavita Bhosle and Prof Bhakti Ahirwadkar guided students for acquiring more skills in Linux and open source domain.
