MIT to celebrate Linux Day on 25th August 2012

Linux® is a free and Open Source operating system that started as a small project by Linus Torvalds in 1991. Today it runs everything from embedded systems to nuclear submarines. Linux also powers Wall Street, the London Stock Exchange, the CERN supercollider, and NASA's supercomputers.

Linux Day is a grassroots network that coordinates the global celebration of Linux's anniversary every year as a form of thanksgiving. Linux Day is celebrated every August 25, or on the Saturday immediately after August 25 if it does not fall on a Saturday.
